Dan’s spoonmaking workshops are small and intimate. They take place over the course of two days and all tools and materials are provided. Students learn how to identify spoons in the piece of wood, split them out with mallet and froe, rough them out with hand axe and bowl adze, and then further define them using various straight and bent knives. Dan will later fire your spoons and mail them to you for finishing. The atmosphere of the workshops is relaxed and congenial. No prior experience is necessary.

Some of Dan’s best testimonials come from his workshops.
